Trademark registration in Kazakhstan is carried out by the Republican State Enterprise on the right of economic activity of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan "National Institute of Intellectual Property" (RSE NIIP or Kazpatent).
Registration period lasts from 7 to 9 months.
- Acceptance of the application, preliminary examination - the completeness of the submitted documents is checked.
- The fee is 16 599.52 ₸ up to 3 NCL classes, for each subsequent class an additional 7 193.76 ₸ fee is imposed.
- The fee is 44 000.32 ₸ up to 3 classes, for each subsequent class an additional 9,800 ₸ fee is imposed.
- Conducting a full examination for registration of a trademark, during which the compliance of the claimed designation with the requirements established by Articles 6 and 7 (grounds for refusal) of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Trademarks" is checked. The fee is 44 000.32 ₸ up to 3 NCL classes, for each subsequent class an additional 9 800 ₸ fee is imposed.
- Obtaining a certificate and registration in the State Register of Trademarks - 36 544.48 ₸ up to 3 NCL classes, for each subsequent class an additional 9 800 ₸ fee is imposed. There is no expedited registration procedure.
